​Mark Waghorn ARB
​Director
Mark studied architecture at Cambridge University and the University of North London and gained full qualification as an architect while working at DGA Architects in London. After becoming an associate and successfully completing numerous projects, Mark left DGA in 2006 to establish his own architectural practice. He moved to Wales in 2012.
Phillip Hedges
Senior Architect
Phillip is a chartered Architect and certified Passive House Designer with experience across residential, commercial, and heritage projects. He has worked on high-end homes, deep retrofits, and listed building refurbishments. Passionate about sustainability and conservation, he enjoys working closely with clients to create thoughtful and efficient designs.
Kafeel Farooqi
Architectural Assistant
Kafeel Teds Farooqi is a Part II Architectural Assistant with an M.Arch graduated from Newcastle University, shortlisted for the 3D Reid Prize 2024. Experienced in residential, commercial, and urban regeration project wordwide. He focuses on context-led, sustainable design that blends craft with digital tools.
Roma Richardson
Architectural Assistant
Roma recently completed her Master’s at the Welsh School of Architecture, where her thesis was featured in Dezeen and the RSAW Touchstone Architecture Journal. Her passion lies in low-carbon, responsive design that uses passive strategies and material honesty to create spaces that nurture connection, wellbeing, and sustainable living.
Sophie Roper-Hall
Architectural Assistant
Sophie recently graduated with a Masters degree in Sustainable Architecture and brings experience in energy efficient and retrofit design, including various residential and heritage projects to meet both the EnerPHit and Passivhaus standards. Sophie is also currently teaching part-time at the Leicester School of Architecture.
Sasanan Young
Office Manager
With over twenty years of administrative and operational experience, Sasanan is the backbone of MWD. Having moved from Thailand to the UK in 2023, she's worked across the UK and Asia in diverse fields and is key to keeping our practice running smoothly. Fluent in Thai and English, Sasanan's global perspective and warm, organised presence are invaluable to our team.
