German Design Award
The German Design Awards have today awarded Mark Waghorn Design a Special Mention Prize for outstanding design quality in the category Architecture for its project Three Glens.
Three Glens, the ultra modern eco farmhouse designed by Mark Waghorn Architects is a 450m2 five-bedroom farmhouse situated on a working farm near the village of Moniaive, South West Scotland.
Mark Waghorn’s vision of an organic building that blended seamlessly into the landscape has been duly acknowledge and recognised by the jury. On their statement they commented: “A remarkable new-build project, for which many materials from the immediate surroundings were used, which lends the building a feeling of ageless groundedness within its location, despite its recent origin.”
The goal of the German Design Awards is to discover, present, and honour unique trends in design. Every year, high-calibre entries in the fields of product and communication design are honoured, each of which blazes new trails in the international design landscape. The German Design Awards, launched in 2012, are among the most prestigious design competitions worldwide and have an excellent reputation far beyond specialist circles.
